Personal Care at Home Consultation

The Department of Health recently published the Government's response to the consultation on proposals for the regulation and guidance of personal care at home. The consultation was undertaken following publication of the Personal Care at Home Bill in February 2009. Councils and those with social care responsibilities were asked to comment on the proposals for regulation and guidance in the bill.

A copy of the publication is available in the tools section on this site. It makes interesting reading, not just because it is likely to be the subject of election debate but also because of the views expressed by councils and social care executives, particularly in relation to the cost of the proposed changes.
