The primark option?

Is the voluntary sector the cheap option? Or, perhaps more important is thinking whether it is perceived as such and by whom.  This is one question that was raised at recent Foresight training (run in partnership with South West Forum). Part of this ‘excellent excellent’ day is thinking about what trends are affecting the sector in that region. The perception of the voluntary sector as ‘the cheap option’ was discussed as a trend which had economic implications. Have you come across this?

A more positive discussion was had around the opportunities that local food production, consumerism and resources could bring to the local economy. Is this a South West specific trend?

Overall people left motivated to carry out strategic analysis and full of food for thought.
Some comments we received were:

Excellent – intelligent – clear – insightful!
