Regional ICT champions confirmed

In each region an ICT champion will be available to help support providers in the third sector for the next three years. Confirming the investment, Capacitybuilders has announced that the champions will be co-ordinated as a network through the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action (NAVCA), working closely with ChangeUp consortia and others.

The investment means ‘hands-on’ advice and networking between ICT support providers can go ahead. Funding of £300,000 will be provided in 2008/9, increasing to £400,000 per annum for the subsequent two financial years.

Building on established networks, each regional champion will be the key contact in signposting to existing ICT providers. They will work with sub-regional infrastructure organisations offering guidance to develop improved ICT support for local third sector groups.
