Learning to lead – the leadership and governance workstream is listening...The Improving Support leadership and governance workstream had a presence at the NCVO Trustee Conference on 6 October where over 350 delegates including trustees, chief executives and support providers came together to debate, learn and be inspired about the latest developments in governance and leadership. Strong messages came out about the importance of understanding the roles and responsibilities of trustees, increasing support on trustee recruitment and induction, and the role governance plays in renewing the vision and direction of an organisation. In coming weeks the workstream will offer opportunities for support organisations to review and benchmark their own governance. It is also working on a programme to develop leadership awareness for development workers who support community sector organisations.
