Bite-sized sessions to help you prepare for the futureLearning how to plan effectively is about to get easier to digest, thanks to “bite-sized” workshops offered by the Change workstream. Led by NCVO and run in partnership with Yorkshire and The Humber Regional Forum and the Centre for Charity Effectiveness at Cass Business School, the sessions are aimed at leaders of infrastructure and umbrella organisations who want to improve their strategic planning – but don’t always have the time to attend day-long courses. On offer is a two-part programme of a breakfast workshop on 8 October and a tea-time session on 30 October, both targeting people involved in planning for the future of their organisation such as chief executives and chairs. The venue is Danum Hotel, Doncaster.handily located less than 5 minutes walk from the train station. Trainers will help attendees look at trends and forces (drivers) affecting the voluntary sector and assess the potential impact on their organisations. The insights gained, backed by practical tips and suggestions, will help participants prepare strategically and effectively for the future. These pilot sessions are offered free and feedback from those taking part will shape the delivery of the workstream’s future training work. Another free workshop will take place in York on 11 November for people supporting frontline organisations in becoming more effective, such as development workers and information officers. Further details on all the workstream’s forthcoming courses are provided in the training and events listings on this site. |
